These dumplings contain wholemeal flour, which has a higher amount of fibre compared to regular white flour. Fibre is important for the health of the digestive system, helps maintain satiety and regulates blood sugar levels. It is richer in nutrients such as B vitamins, magnesium, iron and other important minerals.

Not only are the dumplings made with whole wheat flour, but they also come with yummy spelt puffs. Spelt is an ancient type of wheat that is becoming increasingly popular precisely because of its nutritional benefits. Spelt puffs are prepared by heating the spelt grains quickly which causes them to swell and “pop”. Similar to popcorn, they are light and crunchy.

Preparation

Prepare them quickly and easily

  1. Pour the contents of the bag (200g) into about 110-120ml of cold water (depending on the desired stiffness of the dough).
  2. Knead thoroughly and leave to rest for 5 minutes.
  3. On a floured rolling pin, make 1 roll of the dough.
  4. Place the roll in boiling salted water and cook for 20 minutes.
  5. Once cooked, cut the dumpling into slices.

OUR TIP: Dumplings with strawberries

Prepare the dough as described in point 1 and, after it has rested, shape it into balls about 3 cm in diameter; the whole batch of dough makes about 10-12 dumplings. Place the dumplings in boiling water, cook for about 20 minutes. The dumplings will rise during cooking. After cooking, top with mashed strawberries and serve sprinkled with grated hard cottage cheese and garnished with whipped cream.
